Work to install cable for Rangiora's new feature lighting has been progressing well. The work is being carried out on Sundays in an effort to minimise disruption to businesses and the community, but it does involve road closures to allow MainPower to do the work.
The next stage will continue on Sunday 8 October between 6.30am and 6.30pm and will close High Street between King Street and Percival Street, and Durham Street between High Street and Blake Street.
The Percival Street intersection will remain open and pedestrian access along High Street won't be affected. Parking will be available on High Street to the west of Pita Pit, and on Durham Street north of Colombus Coffee. The Durham Street car park near The Good Drop will still be accessible. If contractors finish early, they will re-open the roads.
There will be three more Sunday's dedicated to completing this work, which will continue east towards Coffee Culture.
