Spring has sprung and to celebrate, the You Me We Us Spring Festival will kick off with a bang on Saturday 23 September.  The annual festival has a great line-up of events and activities, offering something for the whole family to enjoy.

The Pop Up cinema is first to kick the event off, showing the movie 'SING' at the Kaiapoi Borough School Hall at 6pm.  For the peckish, there will refreshments to purchase and pre-movie entertainment starts at 5pm. 20170922_SpringFestival

But wait…there’s more! Party in the Park is on Sunday starting at 11.30am at Trousselot Park.  There are just too many activities to list but highlights include face painting by Beyond the Faerie Tree, performances by magician Josh Grimaldi, a photo booth, bouncy castle, entertainment from local dance groups, and from 1.30pm the amazingly popular Christchurch band Assembly Required will be live on stage.

Other activities during the Spring Festival includes a colouring competition designed by artist Lynda Bell. You can pick up entry forms from Kaiapoi Paper Plus.  A Spring Festival floral display centrepiece using flowers donated by local school students will be put together on Saturday 23 September and there will be some spring treats given out along Williams Street from Tuesday 26 September.  Look out for Kaiapoi shops and businesses participating in a spring themed window display competition.

The You Me We Us Spring Festival is supported by the Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community Board and Waimakariri Aquatic Facilities.  It has fantastic support from a range of local businesses, organisations and local schools. The event is free although donations will be gratefully accepted by You Me We Us.
