Accessibility and Northern Pegasus Bay were on the agenda at the latest Council meeting, and you will very shortly get the chance to have your say on both issues.

Council green-lighted public consultations on both which will open later this month.

“Towards an Inclusive Environment” is the draft Waimakariri Accessibility Strategy 2017 – 2023.

We want to hear your views on ways that we can make Waimakariri a more inclusive community for all of its residents, whether they are new to the community, are dealing with physical disability or have other restrictions that limit their participation in different areas of public activity.

This consultation will include targeted discussions with a number of key groups and organisations. 

The draft Northern Pegasus Bay Bylaw 2016 Implementation Plan was also ticked off by council to be opened for public discussion.

We are seeking your thoughts around appropriate mechanisms for controlling public behaviour and recreational activities on the beaches, while determining an appropriate balance between the conflicting uses and environmental values that are in play where the Northern Pegasus Bay beaches are concerned.
