Here's the latest news on Regeneration progress in Kaiapoi, The Pines Beach and Kairaki.

Feedback on the roading designs
We asked our community for their feedback about the proposed new road link connecting Feldwick Drive with Cass Street, and the rebuild of Courtenay Drive, from 2 to 24 May. We received eight written submissions and met with twenty nine people at the two community drop-in talk sessions.

Underground work on Courtenay Drive
The sewers in Courtenay Drive, Charters Street and Wyber Place suffered significant earthquake damage during the 2010/2011 earthquakes.  Work began in early May 2017 to install two new wastewater pump stations adjacent to Courtenay Drive, along with 300m of gravity sewer, 400m of sewage pumping main and some stormwater pipes. This project is expected to be completed in October 2017.

The Kaiapoi Riverview Terraces and Boardwalk
An exciting new development is currently being designed for the Kaiapoi Town Centre. The Riverview Terraces and Boardwalk will be located between the proposed commercial precinct and the Kaiapoi River on the north-east side. Construction of the terraces is planned to start later in 2017.

New water and sewer mains in Kaiapoi East
Work is underway on the new water trunk main along the northern edge of the Kaiapoi East regeneration area from Williams Street to Beach Road, with a side branch in Sewell Street. This water main will replace abandoned mains and provide a more reliable and resilient water supply. These works started last month and are due to be completed in September 2017.
