In order to help achieve that, we have endeavoured over the
last 18 months to improve the volume of material on our social media site, in
order to make Facebook as useful as is possible to the community on a daily
‘Real time’ information such as current roading issues,
infrastructure updates and service assistance have been a priority, as have regular
council and community news updates, ‘how to material’ and, of course, our
stunningly popular videos.
Last night’s achievement in surpassing 7000 likes tells us
that you are gaining value from what you see: the numbers have lifted by 1000
in just four months, and continue to grow rapidly.
The introduction of news and educational videos has played a
big part in taking us to the next level.
Your response to these has been amazing.
Videos have been watched through
our Facebook site in excess of 260,000 times since they were introduced at the
end of last year.
Their addition has contributed to
our posts being viewed on an astounding 2,838,093 occasions this year alone!
We look forward to continuing to
grow our digital family.
