Brennan Wiremu of Civil Defence Waimakariri wants to get the word out about our coastal emergency warning siren system.

In response, Civil Defence is running a series of public information evenings throughout the district.

Brennan says this is an opportunity for residents to get the latest information directly from the experts and to receive answers to any questions they may have about the warning system or Civil Defence emergencies.

He urges people in the affected areas to let their neighbours know about the meetings and to come along.

All meetings start at 7pm:

  • 16 March – Woodend Community Centre
  • 22 March – Pegasus Bay School Hall
  • 27 March – Kaiapoi Rugby Clubrooms
  • 6 April – Pines / Kairaki Yacht Club
