No one is right for a little longer!

Published: 07-Mar-2017

Motorists seeking to turn right as they enter the South Belt intersection from the west are going to have to be patient for a little longer.

Unfortunately the ‘No Right Turn’ signs are going to remain in place for this traffic through until approximately mid-April due to a delay in the installation of a sewer main in the area, and the commencement of the installation of the stormwater that will follow in near future.

Work on the installation of the new sewer main in the Southbrook Road / South Belt intersection started last week.

This gravity sewer main is being installed at a depth of approximately 2.5m.

The installation has been delayed due to clashes with underground services.

Traffic impacts:

  • There will be no right turn from South Belt into Southbrook Road
  • The suggested detour route for southbound traffic will be via South Belt to Townsend Road and Fernside Road
  • Traffic heading east on South Belt will be detoured via Newnham Street and Charles Street.

Council appreciates the patience the community has shown while this important work is completed.
