Temporary retail units on the move

Published: 09-Feb-2016

The Council owned portable buildings used as temporary retail units in Rangiora’s High Street and Durham Street will be relocated during the week of Monday 15 February.

Paper Plus and Toyworld will move into their new premises prior to this, allowing the temporary buildings to be removed. The building removal will take place during the night.

A temporary road closure will be in place:

  • High Street will be closed from King Street to Percival Street
  • Durham Street will be closed from High Street to Blake Street

The closure will be between 6.30 pm and 6 am from Monday 15 February through to and including Friday 19 February 2016. The road will be reopened at 6am each morning.

Preliminary work to remove garden beds and prepare for the building removal will begin during the week of Monday 8 February.

The footpath through the units will be closed from Thursday 11 February, while the buildings are removed and the next stage of the redevelopment of High Street takes place. This stage is expected to be completed by winter.

Pedestrians will be detoured around the worksite. Please follow the on-site signage.

Thank you for your patience while this work is carried out.

One portable building is still available for sale. Contact Duncan Roxborough on 03 311 8900 for more information.
