Bayonets will be fixed, drums will beat, colours will fly and the band will play.

Saturday 20 February 2016, 10 am - 11 am
The Cenotaph War Memorial, corner High and Ivory Streets, Rangiora

The parade represents the strength of the relationship between the Waimakariri District and the Royal New Zealand Navy.

This is the first time the crew on board HMNZS Canterbury will march through Rangiora to receive their Charter (Freedom of the City).

The parade will march from the Cenotaph west along High Street.

This is a great opportunity for the Waimakariri community to turn out to show its support for the men and women who selflessly give up their time for the service of our country.

High Street, between the Cenotaph and King Street, will be closed to traffic during the parade. There will be no parking in High Street between 7 am and 11 am.

The HMNZS Canterbury will open her bow to members of the public at an open day on Sunday 21 February at the Port of Lyttelton. For more information go to navy.mil.nz.
