Oxford-Ohoka Community Board Statement on Liquor Store Application

Published: 29-Nov-2016

The Oxford-Ohoka Community Board met informally last week to discuss community feedback and consider whether to submit an objection to the Oxford Liquor Store licence application, for a bottle store to operate from 46 Main Street, Oxford.

The proposed bottle store meets the Local Alcohol Policy criteria of being situated in a business 1 or 2 zone and opening within the hours of 7am-10pm.

When the Board considered all of the facts related to the application, the community feedback, and the grounds for objecting under section 105 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, it decided not to submit and objection.

The District Licencing Committee consisting of three Commissioners are scheduled to hear the application in late January 2017. The meeting will be held at the Council Chambers in Rangiora and is open to the public to observe.
