-
Tuahiwi Water Supply
Additionally, investigations are currently under way to consider upgrades to:

-
Oxford Rural No. 2 Rural Water Supply
The capital projects that have just been completed are:
- Summerhill Water Supply upgrade
- Mandeville New Well
Rangiora Water Source Upgrade
This upgrade is to provide a new water source and headworks for
Rangiora. This includes new secure water bores and
headworks at Smith Street to pump the water along a new nine kilometre, 500 mm
diameter pipeline to the new headworks and reservoir at
South Belt, Rangiora.
The system is now fully built, with the new source being operational since October 2011 and the new headworks being operational since December 2011. There is just some fine tuning to the control of the system remaining which will be carried out over the first few months of 2012.
This upgrade improves
both the quality and quantity of water available to Rangiora residents.
The new supply will meet future needs of the community until the year
2060 and will also provide clean water that complies with the Drinking
Water Standards for New Zealand.
Tuahiwi Water Supply
This capital project is to provide a water supply to the Tuahiwi community. Council has resolved to proceed with construction of this water supply following a community consultation process. This project is currently in its design phase, with construction estimated to start in late 2012.
