Water Services

The supply of water to the District's 17 schemes involves the management, operation and maintenance of the water supplies that enhances the health and wellbeing of the community and minimises the effect on the environment.

The Council considers the supply of potable water to the community an essential service. The Council elects to perform this function to ensure that the community receives an affordable, safe and reliable supply. This ensures the health of the community is protected and the impacts on the environment are minimised.

The Council operates 17 separate water supply schemes throughout the District, supplying water to about 85% of the District’s population.
