This 52 hectare reserve near Clarkville sits
among rural surroundings. The clear spring-fed
Silverstream waterway runs through it.
The Parks and Recreation Unit of the Waimakariri District
Council is currently developing a reserve management plan
to guide the
reserve’s future.
In particular, there is potential for the restoration of scarce
native plant communities and opportunities for compatible outdoor
recreation and education.
We asked for initial ideas and comments in November 2007 and
will come back to the
community with a Draft Silverstream Management Plan. Once
the Draft is developed, its content will be available on this
site and via the public consultation process attained when
clicking on the documents below. Check here for further updates.
