At a meeting on Monday 28 a group of users discussed various areas that could be looked at to minimise the risk of collision at the airfield. A pdf version of the powerpoint presentation is available here (2mb).

The Airfield Advisory Group would like to get your suggestions on the areas that were raised and any further ideas that users may have.

1. Circuits – left hand circuit only? Comments/Suggestions

2. Accurate position reports – inaccurate position points on circuit causing problems

3. Indicate position in circuit – doesn’t work if no radio

4. Conflicting traffic on transit lane to West Melton – ideas for improvement?

5. In radio transmissions call airfield at the end of the transmission?

6. Succinct radio transmissions – keep call time to minimum

7. Indicate aircraft type during radio transmission

8. Identified helicopter operational area at the field – particularly for pilot training

9. More wind socks

10. Fly neighbourly - Low flying competitions – minimise disruption to adjoining property owners

11. “Look out “ at all times
