Kaiapoi Town Centre Project
Kaiapoi - a great place for a walk or cycle

The days of wandering down to the town centre, stopping for a natter or a coffee in the sunshine or riding your bike to town with little risk of being overwhelmed by traffic could be about to return - to Kaiapoi. A New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and Waimakariri District Counil funded project is investigating how easy it is for people to reach and move around in the town centre on foot or by bike.

The process involves finding out from the community what the main issues are for pedestrians and cyclists. The Council, in partnership with the community and community groups, will then sort out a list of actoins that could be needed.
