Friends of the Waimakariri District Libraries Friends of the Waimakariri District Libraries is a group of passionate library users who meet regularly to fundraise and promote the library. The group organises raffles and speakers which support the library life financially and add to the vibrant library community.
 Recently the Friends have helped the library with new items such as a trolley and wheel chair to help the elderly and disabled around the library and have contributed to services such as the Summer Reading Programme and Books on Wheels.
In the past Friends of the library have also organised guest speakers including Margaret Mahy, Jo Seager and John Coley.
