Council community buildings include town halls, community centres, community halls and pavilions. Many of these buildings are located within a community park or local reserve area.
Use of these facilities varies with their size, features and layout. Many are used for a range of recreational activities and events, while others provide a meeting place for sports clubs or other community groups. Some venues are available for private functions, such as weddings.
The lists below will give you information on the Council's facilities. To make a booking, or for further details, contact the Council's Customer Services on (03) 311 8900, or the contact person listed for the particular facility.
Note: A number of venues are currently unavailable following the 2010 and 2011 Canterbury earthquakes.
