Officially opened in 1983, the Woodend Community Centre was badly damaged by fire in December 2006. It was re-opened after extensive repairs in November 2007. The centre is a popular multi-purpose facility located just off the main highway in Woodend. Its main feature is an indoor sports hall, which can also be used for approved functions and other events. Chairs and tables are available. A large kitchen runs off the main hall, as do toilets and shower rooms. A mezzanine floor area and meeting room are also available for community use. They cater for a maximum of 70 and 30 people respectively. The main hall and toilet facilities are accessible for disabled users and a sealed car parking area is located alongside the centre. The centre has recently been upgraded and is now open again.
