Proposed Targeted Rate for the Sealing of Barkers Road

Council is proposing to seal a portion of Barkers Road, Loburn and need to formalise a funding arrangement with adjacent property owners to undertake the work.

Council received a petition from a group of Barkers Road property owners to seal Barkers Road, Loburn. To further understand concerns and provide information, meetings with the Barkers Road residents and property owners were held in November 2016 and February 2017.

In giving effect to the Council’s Rural Seal Extension Policy, the Council has agreed to seal the section of road as shown on the Draft Rating Policy map below.  This is conditional upon property owners paying their share of the cost.

It is proposed that property owners can have two options for payment – either a one off payment, or a targeted rate on their property over ten years.
