Welcome Packs
The Council sends 'welcome packs' to anyone buying a property in the Waimakariri District. These packs contain lots of useful brochures. The packs can also be picked up from the foyer of Rangiora Service Centre.
Drop-in Lunchtimes
Are you new to the District? Not sure where to go for information or advice? Come to the Rangiora Library reference room, 141 Percival Street, Rangiora, Thursdays from 12 noon - 1.30 pm. You can also find useful advice in our New to Waimakariri booklet (pdf, 1.96 MB).
What To See and Do in the Waimakariri District
The Visit Waimakariri website has lots of information on things to do and see in the Waimakariri District for visitors and people new to the District. There is an i-SITE Visitor Centre located in Kaiapoi at the Old Railway Station in Charles Street - phone (03) 327 3134 or email info@kaiapoivisitorcentre.co.nz.
Newcomers Network
The Newcomers Network was established through Neighbourhood Support to welcome people to North Canterbury.We hold regular gatherings, covering a variety of interests, the details of which can be obtained through the Newcomers Network website.
Neighbourhood Support
Neighbourhood Support works closely with the Police and many other organisations in our community to make our homes, streets, neighbourhoods and communities safer.
